Understanding Your Operating System

This video course is the first in a series of courses Matthew Dahlitz uses with entrepreneurs and business people to help them overcome barriers and get off plateaus in business and life.  The course outlines the theory behind the consistency theory, our basic psychological needs, and the way we approach or avoid things to satisfy or protect those needs. The full course is a 12 month journey of self-discovery with Matthew, of which this theory course is just the start.


This self-study activity consists of 2 hours of continuing education, or professional development, instruction. Credit requirements and approvals vary across countries, organizations and state board regulations. Please save the test results at the end of each unit, the certificate of completion you receive from the activity and contact your organization to determine specific filing requirements.

We are unable to guarantee the success of logging 2 CE/PD points for this course as the requirements vary significantly across countries, states, and organizations.

All self-study participants will have to have achieved 80% or better pass rate to receive a certificate of completion. If you require a copy of the test/evaluation for CE purposes, please print at the time you take the test – these are available as a download after you complete each test section.

Matthew Dahlitz is both university trained and an autodidactic, whose knowledge spans across the arts, technology, psychology, neuroscience, emergency medicine, and business. Studied psychology at the University of Queensland and gained a Master of Counselling postgraduate degree – now a specialist in neuropsychotherapy and the Editor-in-Chief of The Neuropsychotherapist, has taught post-graduate courses in neuropsychotherapy, and is author of the book The Psychotherapists’s Essential Guide to the Brain.

Matthew, like Richard, has a musical bent, having studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in both music technology and master of composition – having scored for film and produced a number of albums of original music he has also been a producer in a film production company. Matthew has also been an Advanced Care Paramedic for a decade, managed commercial property and property development projects in the tens of millions of dollars, is the Editor-in-Chief of the technology magazine Age of Robots, covering the technology and the social and psychological impacts of this second machine age, and runs a media and publishing company with an emphasis on cutting edge science and technology.
