Written in accessible language, this handy “beginner’s guide” to the brain assumes no prior knowledge of neuroscience. A series of short articles lays the groundwork for readers to grasp the big picture of how the brain functions, providing some sound reference points for considering what is going on in our own brains as well as the brains of clients.
Interesting – looking forward to the journey

Soon after starting these fine informative videos, some historical information jumped up from the page of a book I am reading: ..”…Olivia Sabuco des Nantes Barrera (born 1562) wrote a treatise on human physiological and mental states entitled ” A New Philosophy of the Nature of man, Not Known or Achieved by the Ancient Philosophers, Which Will Improve Human Life and Health. […] Barrera believed that the passions (fear, anger, despair, unrequited love, shame, anxiety, compassion, etc) stinulated the sevcretions of the brain, affecting health and initiating disease.” All but 2 of her books were destroyed during the Inquisition. She hypothesised stress impact during the High Renaissance. (p99; Hypathia’s Heritage; Alic)
