THE NEUROPSYCHOTHERAPIST
Volume 7 Issue 4 (April 2019)
ISSN 2201-9529
I discovered that I am writing this during the celestial equinox. This is one of only two times during the year when day and night are of equal length all over the world. In a small way, we are all sharing a common experience. Not only as human beings, but all things on the surface of the planet. I wonder how this affects you, but this gives me a moment of pause. I’m not sure that The Neuropsychotherapist is an event that will affect us all, but I feel that there is something wonderful for everyone in this issue.
Another great book has been released by W. W. Norton publishers and we have secured a special selection to whet your appetite. In their new book, Worried? Science Investigates Some of Life’s Common Concerns (Norton, 2019), Lise Johnson and Eric Chudler put a host of things we experience in day-to-day living under the microscope of science and give us a clear indication as to whether we should be worried … or not!
We also have a very interesting case study, “Catching the Wave”, by Ken Benau as he shows how he applies his pro-being model that we learned about on our podcast with him on January 29th. We then have two articles by our great friends Ernest and Kathryn Rossi. I have decided to publish both articles in this same issue because they inform each other and you will be able to refer between them. The Leading Edge article, “A Quantum Field Theory (QFT): Integrating Feynman’s Path Integral of Physics with Milton Erickson’s Pathways of Effective Consciousness and Cognition in Neuropsychotherapy”, introduces some brand new ideas based on new research about the nature of quantum and its relation to psychology. I feel we are very fortunate to be publishing such innovative work. The other article, “Milton H. Erickson’s Paths of Effecive Psychotherapy”, includes a special commentary on a set of case studies from the files of Milton Erickson. This is also a unique opportunity for us to explore these articles with equal curiosity and equal wonder! We may even be in harmony with this celestial equinox—I hope you all feel the connection.
