Today we talk to Ruth Lanius, MD, PhD, Professor of Psychiatry who is the director of the posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) research unit at the University of Western Ontario. She’s also the co-author of ‘Healing the traumatized self: consciousness, neuroscience, treatment’ with Paul Frewen, and has published over 168 papers. We were very honoured to get to speak with her about trauma therapy.

Really like how Dr. Ruith works focussing on the body emotional experience and not the cognitive autibilogical narratives.
Like the “edge of tolerence” awareness in the work of shifting the brain.
Making the client safe, checking the body messages and asking them what they need in the moment.
Good approach.
Thank you
