Kim Michelle Hansen
We live in unprecedented times of growing anxiety and depression. Never before have we seen the levels being experienced right now. We live in a 24/7 world, & being switched on all the time is taking its toll on us, our family, friends, work and home lives. As a neuropsychotherapist, who is fascinated by the science of the brain, I am very aware of the role lifestyle plays in wellbeing. Healthy mind, healthy body. Healthy body, healthy mind.
By educating you about the workings of your brain, we allow you to take control of your mental health and wellbeing. Poor mental health is debilitating. When it has been experienced for a significant amount of time, it may feel that returning to mental wellness is almost impossible. Remember, there was a time before you felt unwell, when life was easier and more enjoyable. Getting back to that time is possible.
Whether you have decided to include medication in your treatment plan or not, there are many things you can begin to do right now, that will change the way your brain behaves, which will change the way you feel.
The objective is to regain control over the debilitating symptoms you are experiencing. Understanding what is happening in your brain at this time, and learning what you can do to improve your mental wellbeing, will increase your chances of feeling your old self again and staying that way.
